Meet Your School Counselors
Serving students with last names A-L
Hello Students & Families!
My career in education began as an elementary and special education teacher. After spending five years in the classroom, I went on to become as school counselor and be able to provide more supports to my students and families. I have a strong background in special education where I spent thirteen years at the district office level before coming back to the school site as a School Counselor here at Acacia Middle School.
My professional training includes a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona, a Master’s of Education Degree from Point Loma Nazarene University and an Educational Doctorate Degree with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne.
I am very excited to be working with the middle school students here at Acacia. They are experiencing growth at such rapid rates and are so curious about the world around them. We have some of the most kind, polite and humble students here and I am very grateful to be a part of their middle school years!
Hello! I’m very excited to be your school counselor this year. A little bit about me…. I served in the Marine Corps for seven years which afforded me the opportunity to enroll in college and receive my Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, Fullerton. After the the Marine Corps I received my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Long Beach State University.
As a first generation Latina college graduate, I chose to become a school counselor to advocate for ALL students and their families. My school counseling philosophy is that each and every student is capable of success. With the appropriate resources and supports all students are capable to define and create their own success. I believe in providing warm and empathetic support to all students while empowering them to set their own goals for success.
