In 2017 Acacia Middle School was awarded the Silver PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) Implementation Award from the California PBIS Coalition. Acacia Middle School leads the way for PBIS/ASB integration on its campus.

The behavior expectations, PAWS, (Positive, Accountable, Working Hard, and Safe) are posted throughout campus and taught explicitly to all students.

PBIS and ASB offer many incentives and awards for students such as Student of the Month, 100% Club, Cougar PAWS home calls, Cougar Cash, Cougar Cash drawings.Rewards also include the Renaissance Cards, a recognition based on GPA semester grades. We also have lunch time activities to engage and inspire students and End of the Year awards to recognize the top performers in all areas of campus culture (e.g., academic, physical fitness, sports, interpersonal skills, outstanding behavior).

PBIS exists in three tiers. Tier 1 includes 100% of students on campus. Tiers 2 & 3 are intensive supports for a small population of students require additional guidance.

Below is a nomination form available to all staff and parents if they feel a student needs additional supports with behavior at school.  Feel free to print, complete, and deliver in a confidential envelope to the front office at Acacia Middle School.

If you have any questions about PBIS, please contact Mrs. Sustal for Tier 1, Mr. Jones & Mr. Truax for Tiers 2 & 3.

We would also like you to complete a brief survey on the school-wide PBIS system at Acacia Middle School.  Thank you for your support!
